Finasteride is a medications used to treat hair loss caused by male pattern baldness aka male androgenetic alopecia (MAA). It works by inhibiting the hormone DHT, which shrinks hair follicles and leads to thinning hair. Finasteride slows hair loss and promotes regrowth, making it an effective solution for men experiencing hair thinning.
Minoxidil is also a medication used to treat hair loss caused by MAA. Can I get this shampoo at a store or without a prescription?
No, topical finasteride is only available with a prescription.
Contraindications
You should not use Fortify RX Shampoo if you are under 18 years old, are a woman who is pregnant or trying to conceive, or have an allergy to any of the ingredients, including finasteride, minoxidil, or progesterone. Possible Common Side Effects
Minoxidil may cause low blood pressure and leg swelling. The most common side effect is hypertrichosis (additional hair growth on the face or body).
